Professional Training

All fellows will attend seminars that are primarily focused on technology and journalism. Academic and industry experts will discuss prototypes and potential solutions to the problems of trust, provenance, mis/disinformation, and how new decentralized technologies might provide roadmaps to such solutions. The Fellows also will meet with tech leaders to deepen their understanding of the technology and media ecosystems.

Collegiate Level

How can we design next generation news interfaces to address mis/disinformation? Working with Stanford University and USC faculty, students will examine how new cryptographic and decentralized technology tools can provide solutions for image authentication, storage and verification of digital records.

High School Summer Institute

Select high school students will work with journalists and industry partners to engage in an 8-week course on trust, technology and journalism. Students will learn how technology tools can impact digital media and how to recognize mis/disinformation across platforms. Applications for Summer 2022 are now closed.
